They are delivered in a range of venues across the borough including schools, libraries and community venues. There are also a range of courses aimed at anyone experiencing mild to moderate anxiety, depression or low mood.

Employment Support

Knowsley Works is a free service available to all Knowsley residents aged 16 years and over, who are unemployed or on notice of redundancy. Three centres (Kirkby, Huyton and Halewood) are staffed by experienced and qualified advice and guidance officers who can provide 1:1 support as needed. As well as offering advice and guidance, there are activities such as job search workshops, CV writing workshops, help completing job application forms or training courses which you can go to.

Knowsley Works has a dedicated employment and apprenticeship team which works with local employers, helping them to fill their vacancies. This means Knowsley Works clients can be given training specific to the employer’s vacancy, which increases the client’s chances of being selected for interview and being offered the job. Alternatively, clients may decide to apply for one of the many apprenticeships Knowsley Works has arranged with a local employer. These are guaranteed to last for a minimum of 12 months and are paid at the national minimum wage.

If there are issues preventing you from gaining employment which your advisor feels may need more specialist support, they can make arrangements for you to be referred onto organisations that specialise in that area e.g. counselling services, debt and finance, welfare benefit advice and housing issues for example.
